Home Remedy – A Poem by Ivan Jenson

You are quite resourceful
when you are remorseful
because it is then
you access the source
material
of your sorrow
and gauge if it is worth
gouging your eyes out
or if it is simply a
temporary trespassing
tragedy that can be
buck shot with
a vodka shot
and some salt
from your tear ducts
and a few
cheers to you
and your
pretty pity fest
culminating in
a make-out session
with a sensational
stranger sitting
on a bar stool
next to you
perched and fluttering
like the dove of love
which I will
(after a poetic disclaimer)
rhyme with
your now
brand new
blue skies
above

Fair-Skinned Warning – A Poem by Ivan Jenson

I will pick
your pockets
thumb through
your secret stash
of intimate details
jimmy your locks
jangle your nerves
and shake the
foundation
makeup off
your face
till you stand
un-powdered
and powerless
like a frightened
Ford model
who has just
had her
Bob Mackie
wig and dress
ripped from her
famously
skeletal frame
and who now
stands
waif-like
overpaid
undernourished
and oh so
exquisitely
exploited
by a world
of lights
lenses
and my
hard boiled
soft focus
obsessions

A Short Ode To Sausage – A Poem by Daniel Klawitter

Sad to say, there are people who regard lovers of sausages as relics
from a kind of nutritional Dark Ages…—Charles Simic, poet.

Theologically, I’d say I was predestined
to eat animals carefully stuffed
inside their own intestines.

I’m the first to eat knockwurst,
and the last in a cholesterol tsunami
to relinquish my salami to the authorities.

Whether beef, lamb or pork—
it will end up on my fork.
(I’m clear about my priorities.)

And for those who go into hysterics
proclaiming sausages barbaric,
I want you to understand:

That though you might be leaner
you can only have my wiener
if you pry it from my cold dead hands.

Moment in Time – A Poem by G. S. Katz

there’s nobody left to blame
we just ran out of feeling
the impossible became possible
the tears have all dried
you were my desire plateau
my raven in flight
we came out of nowhere
we crashed but didn’t burn
let’s celebrate the highs
there’s to many to count
a beautiful love affair
a moment in time…

Tried to Know You Again – A Poem by G. S. Katz

you say you want the truth
but only if it’s your truth

tried to find a way to know you again
— too many years had passed

can’t talk about the weather
can’t talk about our jobs
can’t talk about our lovers
can’t talk about the mundane any longer

gave you friendship
gave you connection
gave you a reason to know me again
What did you give me ?

Truth when you were drunk
It’s not good enough….

I and Me – A Poem by Roy K. Austin

I am a neighbour
with open gate,
me is a glutton
not pulling his weight,
I am high
like a drifting cloud,
me down below
has the mind of the crowd
filtering, straining,
tangled in knots,
while I like a kite
am free from the lot,
me is the cause
of each scattering part,
I am the grief
of a broken heart,
me is the sport
of a sickening ill,
I am the vulture
devouring the kill,
me is the grasp,
the grunt and the spit,
I am the truth
of a bottomless pit,
me is the sleuth
discovering loss,
I am the meaning
of uroboros.
