When we kissed,
I could taste last night
on your skin
alongside my dreams.
You did not answer me
when I spoke.
It was 5 am
and the world
was still dark
but we
were obedient
to the blueprint
of our days
despite the desire
to wrap around
one another
and be lured
by each other’s
warmth of slumber.
