Evenings | Krushna Chandra Mishra

These evenings are different.
To find a little darkness is difficult.
Lights all around are a disturbing thing.
To rest, to sleep, to relax and to enjoy
It looks too difficult for this flooding light.

Sometimes it looks cave life was free.
Emotions in raw forms were pure.
Honest exchanges defined relationships
To find friends or make enemies.

These days evenings don’t help
To hide self, friends, moods and interests.
Exposed in full, how embarrassed one stands
Unable to face admires and critics alike!

Kicking up Dirt | Scott Thomas Outlar

Another twist of the knife
with pinpoint precision
to bleed the world’s angst
upon the already drenched ground
as division flares
across the airwaves
with a corporate media
pimping and pumping the problems
one right after another
in a steady stream of chaos
to keep the people
afraid and at each other’s throats

Another gunshot fires
trigger point to the bursting flesh
in a hallowed church
where no salvation can be found
just an old tattered flag
being waved as a sign
that some hatred never dies
it’s the devil’s gift that keeps on giving
down the line
from one seed to the next
in a polluted bloodline
full of sins unto each generation

Another mother weeps
as the saviors and sages
from a time long past
turn over in their graves
kicking up dirt
that gets slung in all our eyes
to keep us blind
of all the superficial face value bull
so maybe we can start to see
something a little deeper
at the core
where everything is One
and solutions might soon be found

The Unspoken Word | Jim Bellamy

It’s an unspoken word at the base of the brain that everybody deserves
just what they constrain; an unspoken word that children suffer time: O
it happens world over, but no-one seems to mind.

It’s an unspoken word in
the centre of the dust that each of us perverts just what consoles our
lust; an unspoken word that misery is fine: O it happens world over, but
no-one seems to mind.

It’s an unspoken word in the swirling of the sun
that nothingness accords just what we’ve never done; an unspoken word that
life is merely crime: O it happens world over, but no-one seems to mind.

It’s an unspoken word in the wastelands of the womb that everyone is
stirred by the madness of the moon; an unspoken word that tyranny must
shine: O it happens world over, but no-one seems to mind.

It’s an unspoken
word, a deadly word between us all that emptiness conserves our only
clarion call; an unspoken word that poets seldom rhyme: O it happens world
over, but no-one seems to mind.
i espy time?

Love Me My Love | Laljee Verma - Contemporary Poetry Website Featuring Notable Poems

Love Me My Love | Laljee Verma

My eyes search someone in the crowd
Vision has dimmed but not the hope
Waiting for the face my soul searches
To relish the serene beauty, which
Springs the life in me!
Morning wakes me with golden hands
The blue sea churns some tunes
Cuckoos sing sweet melodies
Makes me feel romantic and young!

My dreams shatter why? I know not
Why nights are not a bit longer
I see you in the mirror of my dreams
And lament when the mirror shatters!

I always felt you beside me
In my joyous moments, and in my grief
In my thoughts and in my daydreams
You were always there as a part of my soul!

Love me, my love, before shadows
Disappear with heralding morn’
In a sultry summer casting a gloom!

Sit on the cold rock by the stream
And drown in the serenading music
Drops, falling from the wet leaves
Awakens dreams that you are here

Listen to the song of the ocean blue
And the lovely tunes nature plays!

Love me, darling, endlessly,
Dance with me in the golden hue
The golden horse with the golden mane
Has been waiting for us, did you know?
