deep poems about life

Forever Young | Walid Abdallah

My heart is forever young
A divine hymn to be sung
I love everyone and always forgive
As twice as I take, I always give
I try to be nice as possible as I can
Of peace and love I am a great fan
Life is short to waste in hate
Let tolerance be our only fate
Love people and nature around
Only the base of justice we must found
Leave good mark on each heart you meet
Let your nice memory your main good feat
Whenever you go spread love and affection
Be much nicer than people’s prediction
Treat everyone equally be always fair
Show everyone your respect and care
Being respectful is something you never regret
You will be rewarded more than you expect
We are on earth to make it a paradise
Listen to me and follow my advice
Dream big and complain less
Sadness never lasts and neither does happiness
Think positively and always be optimistic
You can’t change your fate by being pessimistic
Let live, love and learn your goal
Carve them deep in your soul
The heart that doesn’t know envy lives longer
It has better destiny and grows stronger
My heart is forever young
A divine hymn to be sung

Aftermath | Stan Morrison

After my mother’s death, her belongings devitalized
Her furniture: tables and chairs in a secondhand store
Her flatware; somewhat less than service for eight
Her clothes: just rags in some cartons for Goodwill
Floating lifeless amputated from person place time
All wrapped up with some flowers, and a plain pine box
A graveside ceremony, a polyester rabbi, a summer rain
A granite engraver just itching to make his marks
An estate lawyer salivating for his probate fees
Everyone is just trying hard to make a living

Perspective | James Diaz

You said, “Good things happen
whether we deserve them or not,”
but I believe good things happen
whether we know they are good or not
sometimes all you can really feel
is what has, for so long, pained you
and when the sun beats down
for some of us
it might as well be dark as night.

A Tale of Istanbul | Amanda Larasati

The magnificent Bosphorus smiled at me cheerfully
And the dazzling Kiz Külesi stood in the middle of it profoundly
Beyond it, the majestic Topkapi palace allured me in enchantment
Subsiding all my devastation and resentment
While strolling around, a spellbinding building captivated my attention
I found out Sultanahmet Camii was its name
The manifestation of mankind’s intellectuality and outstanding progression
An epitome of splendour that looks ravishing, graceful, and sublime
Istanbul oh Istanbul
The glorious city where mighty civilizations were established
The witness of how victory was prodigiously accomplished
Encapsulated through blood, sweat, and tears
In the pursuit of dignity and peace
Istanbul oh Istanbul
Sparkling beautifully each day and night
Reviving my spirit with felicity and delight
Redeeming the agony and despondences
To abolish all my inflictions and cries

Secrets | Jerad Hering

In a fort that we made
in a Sunday haze
made out of blankets and sheets.
So gentle, kind, and tender there,
I do declare
I once mistook you for a sunbeam.
Off in our own little world
chasing after secrets, jailed by secrets that we keep

And the Rain Fell | Chris Byrne

As I sat, cold and hungry
In the rain, not knowing
If anyone cared,
Pondering, would anybody
Miss me? I was just another
Figure on the list
Tomorrow will be better,
I’d think,
Dark dismal thoughts
Flooded my brain
Not knowing if I’d get
A bed for the night
Or have to face the
Night
Life flashed before
My eyes, could I make it?
Could I?
Now I look back
Wonder how I
Survived.

Failure | Sravani Singampalli

Do you feel that failure is your enemy?
Make it your best friend
After all, it taught you so many things.
If not then stop dreaming about
Being another Thomas Alva Edison!

Antique – A Poem by Thomas Ode

My skin the skin
of oil lamps, musty
carpets, a splintered
wooden table with fire engine
paint on it,
set me in the corner
thinking about the proverbial
good old days.
