Waking up
to human breath
to tousled bed
to arms outstretched
to bustle of morning tea
to chatter and grumble
to chemistry
of souls united
in camaraderie.
A dream, my dream
untouched, pristine
held in hopeful heart and mind.

Climb the highest mountain,
If it meant being able to
Spend one more minute with you.
Our feelings are so strong we can
Barely contain them,
A love as passionate as

An amazing gift to be joyfully

They hang from the rafters,
swing and slide, bannister
riding people who swill
life down in a single consuming
gulp, swallow taste, world,
emotion in a rattle cry
that echoes in the throat,
thumping through the thin walls
of their candy-colored streamline
automobile baby.

Instead of worldwide hate

Change the course of history
Stave off worldwide fate
This is when we search for
color to transform cold grey.
Rainfall begins its magic
brightening our sky blue.
We scan stacks of luminous clouds
as trees pop out green buds and
forsythia bursts sparkling yellow stalks.
Just today a breath of warmth
brought alive pink crepe myrtle branches.
Aromatic lilac bushes gather in
soft bunches while birds and bugs
encircle them. We are listening now
to the first chorus of spring time.
For once
be honest
with yourself
with everyone
what needs to be
fixed
is also broken
in you
too much sexism
hatred
homophobia
racism
general darkness
lives right
under our society’s
surface.
