Your Home | Danijela Trajkovic

Come
To your home

No one knows
Except you
Where its door is
What its walls look like
Its windows
Its roof
If there is a terrace or not
And from which material was built

Come
Whenever you feel
Like coming home
When you get tired of
Wandering
People
Noise
Whenever you crave
Smile of the fire on your body
Steamed up mirror on lips
Mute talk of fingers
Blue sky in the night
Luna in your lap

Come
When you remember
That your home is empy
Without you

Come
And go again
Whenever you desire
Wandering
People
Noise

Your home is your home
Doesn’t long for
Wandering
People
Noise
But for the smoke
On its chimney
That you bring.

Forget-Me-Nevers | Jacob Erin-Cilberto - Contemporary Poetry Website Featuring Notable Poems

Forget-Me-Nevers | Jacob Erin-Cilberto

i love you when
the petals let go of the dandelion
and flutter in a wind of doubt

i love you when
the blade cuts the lawn in ‘twain
we bleed serene green
and the scent of affection
lingers in the air

i love you when
the heat of day
skips rope toward a half moon
and we trip on the beams
happily falling into the stars of
shape-shifting voyeurs watching
elegantly

i love you when
and if
storms provoke us to windswept fate
as punishment for loving too much
we will gladly accede to the suffering

provided the yellow gale
splits the moon
with each of us as equal halves
of the rapture.

Just Another Day at My Village Town | Akwana wa Odera - Contemporary Poetry Website Featuring Notable Poems

Just Another Day at My Village Town | Akwana wa Odera

Kick start
I push myself to start
Blink twice
Draw the curtains aside
Like golden spears
Penetrating my windows
I let the sunlight
Hit my eyes
Just to acknowledge the fact
That it’s already dawn
I need to wake up
And feel the earth
Just to appreciate
That I’m feeling alive.
The chirping of the birds
A natural melody
That never get hyped
The smell of fresh dung
The dew on the grass
Shining, in sparkling light
As the sun rays hit the ground
The morning cold
Making me shiver a bit
As i try to see through
The fading fog
The the white rising smoke
Of burning firewood
From neighbour’s kitchens
The laughing and energetic
Sounds of little children
As mothers prepare
Something to feed them
The sizzling sounds
Of steaming kettles
The scrubbing and rubbing
Of yesterday’s utensils
The smell of cooking breakfast
The day has started
The whole village’s a woken
I yawn and smile
Its just another day
In my village town.

Self Possessed | Guna Moran - Contemporary Poetry Website Featuring Notable Poems

Self Possessed | Guna Moran

Joy flees at the first opportunity
It does not give company always
Like sorrow

Sorrow is the true friend
It is not ethereal like happiness

Whose life partner is sorrow
Sorrow is one’s happiness

Happiness is dream
Sorrow is reality

Absurd dream is not my longing in reality
So I do not say myself to be unhappy
Even if I’m not happy
