happiness poems

Felicity | JD DeHart

No, not the TV program
we binge-watched last
January.
Not knocking it, but I’m
talking about that lack
of care that’s lovely.
Not reckless, not lazy,
just an hour or more
of contented wonder.

I Fell for You | Carvin Weitz

It took one glimpse and I was hooked.
My dried out tears embraced your beauty as I looked.
I fell inlove with the song of your soul.
It resonated so deep that it made me whole.
I was healed with a touch of your heartbeat.
My dance was abstract and so were my feet.
I fell for you.

Tree | Harekrishna Dey

I brought up a tree in my blood,
The tree grows up and opened eyes with his green leaves.
One day the sky comes to my tree and gives Wind, Clouds and Sunlight,
I filled my feelings of a true love of a tree,
My feet are running deep in to the earth
with long roots of a tree.
One day the sky brings lots of Clouds,
Wind gives plenty of fresh oxygen,
The Sun gives light.
I sit under the tree and breathe long life
Full of flowers and fruits that give me pleasure and happiness.

Adrift into a Snow Globe | Ken Allan Dronsfield

As I gaze through the glass of the snow globe.
My mind drifts off and I find myself there skating.
Through the snowflakes, and the bonfire’s glow
mugs of cocoa with tiny marshmallows waiting.
The vision of my girl, wearing her long red coat
with faux fur around the hood and white mittens,
knitted hat and long white scarf cover her throat
skating along the pond, her blond hair in ribbons.
Moving along with grace in my old black skates
I race along the pond, trying to catch up with her
finally getting close, I call out, then she hesitates
I fly on by, trip, land on my dignity, hitting with a blur.
I can hear her giggling with glee from behind me,
but I suddenly wake from my daydream visions
still standing there, globe in hand, I leave it be,
smiling, thankful for memories of love’s adoration.
