Sea, Shore and the Sky | Amrita Singh - Contemporary Poetry Website Featuring Notable Poems

Sea, Shore and the Sky | Amrita Singh

The day breaks into a crimson dusk,
Pastels merging into the bright chirpy hues,
The sea stretches to the horizon Unabashed hopes of a rendezvous with the sky

The shore seeped in love, surrenders to the sea,
The sea unrequiting:unloving,
Ebbs away with life
Sprawling death all over across the shore.

Since centuries, the Shore has begged for love from the Sea
Since centuries, the Sea has loved the sky.

Neither attaining what one wishes to have, nor belonging where the heart lies.
Reflecting the rays of the sun on itself, shore beckons out to the Sea…..

While, entranced in ethereal beauty of the Sky,
Sea strives constantly to endear
Spurned, rejected, the sea returns to the shore in the night,
Her cares are caressed into oblivion by the all giving lover

Yet again, then, she turns rejuvenated to the sky
The shore waits endlessly for the Sea, with silent sighs.

Joyous at dusk, the shore lives on; for those moments
And
Lovelorn Sea lives on for the dawn to meet the Sky.

Most of us evade as the Sky
Some of us are the Sea,

Very Few, like the Shore, stand by.

May I Dream of You | Lynn Long - Contemporary Poetry Website Featuring Notable Poems

May I Dream of You | Lynn Long

May I dream of you
before I wake
May I feel your love
as the dawn breaks
In peaceful slumber
I wait for you
To hold me close
To feel my truth
For our love exists
amid the stars
In celestial wonder
and worlds afar
Across the distance
of space and time
A parallel universe
within my mind
In vulnerability
love transcends
In euphoric harmony
we begin
Our souls immortal
as we become one
Your heart is the
portal to my love
undone
So…
May I dream of you
before I wake
May I feel your love
as the dawn breaks

Letting Go | Lynn Long - Contemporary Poetry Website Featuring Notable Poems

Letting Go | Lynn Long

A melancholy moment
with the rising of dawn
A sense of clarity
come and gone
For I’ve said goodbye
again and again
In tears that won’t flow,
for you, my friend,
Yet, the soul cries
liar, and I cannot
deny, the feelings
of longing deep
inside…
But, my heart,
my heart-
speaks a truth,
the soul does
not know
It is time the
heart whispers,
to just let
go…
