Time to Get Crack-a-Lacking on That Grief of Yours | Paul Tristram

Stop trying to fight the flood,
damming that river of anguish
twisting through
your heartbroken soul.
To ‘Feel’ is to ‘Heal’
it’s all but a small step
up a bigger staircase.
A universal suffering…
which we all connect to at times
upon this haphazard road of life.
Cry… cry again… then some more,
absorb… release… purify.
Cast your unneeded anger
to the howling winds,
it’s merely road-blocking
your better, brighter emotions.
Luck and light return often
just as quickly and unexpectedly
as they both depart.
In your darkest hour,
cruellest corner…
be nice to yourself,
remember when the mirror
beamed brilliantly back at you
and hide not away from the New Dawn.

I will return,
One day I will,
Not because I lack guile,
But because of the need to be invigorated,
Oh yes I will return,
It will be enlivening I know,
Full of energy and enthusiasm,
My vivacity will be unheard of,
Full of uniqueness and gusto,
Not because I have made it,
But because rising and falling are a way of life,
I fall and rise in the same measure,
I will return,
Lacking sophistication no more,
Until I get there,
where my heart will be at ease,
Oh yes I will return.

Awake to positivity, adrenalin and energy,
yawn everything but optimism away.
There are many winding roads before you
yet, only one is uncluttered
and as straight as an arrow,
it is signposted ‘Determination’
Break your fast upon daring and courage.
Pinpointing objectives, goals
and potential stepping stones before moving
is half the battle won
before the day’s war cry has even begun.
Fine-tune the natural clairvoyancy
of your gut instincts
and use them to chess move precisely your way.
Trust your common-sense
and the invaluable knowledge
learnt the hard way
from past mistakes and falls
and never, ever waiver from their sound advice.
This ‘Day’ will not come around again.
This ‘Stage’ of your ‘Evolution’
is already grinding a-change.
Forgive yourself for absolutely everything,
shine from the very core…
and let nothing or no one stand in your brilliant way.
