Not Alone | Jenny Dowling

Look up at the lightning in the sky.
Left there, no one seems to wonder why. Those scars run deep, now I sink. Bottle in my hand I see you weep. Now it’s all over, I just can’t get sober. Behind these bars faced with darkness. She watches on as tears stain her face. That beauty that once held so much joy, is a toy broken now but not destroyed.

I travel, not alone.

Not alone, she travelled.

By My Side | Debendra Sahu

After the initial burst
After quenching the thirst,
I saw the sun getting dim
I saw the stars getting gloomy.
I saw the river getting dry
The ocean vanishing into the sky,
Mountains going deep down
But I never saw you leaving my hand.
Even when I was blown away in winds
Drowned in waters of the torrential rains.

Sometimes time crawled, sometimes sprinted
But now it appears to have again slowed down.
Thence sun got dimmer, ocean vanished into sky
But O’ life, you haven’t forsaken me to perish dry.
So be with me together to steal the sun
And shine the earth,
So be with me by the side to have fun
Till I wind up with my breath.

Panegyric | Sanjeev Sethi

You define heartbreak
muss and all things mingy
required in this rigmarole.
You limn for me love
its rites and residues.
Unclaimed you abide
in a dead part of me.
You will last longer than me.
You live in my lines.

You Are an Angel | Mónika Tóth

dedicated to my nice Romanian friend Vasile

in the icy wind
I write for you
you are an angel

smart and beautiful
sweet and strong
you are an angel
with a big heart and
gentle smile

you are a blessing

you are so special to me.
