Lockdown Lament | Ivan Jenson

I long to sit with you
in a crowded theatre
so I can yell
“desire!”
because from
here to California
it is love in the time
of Corona
and so I will
live stream me
if you promise
to FaceTime you
because our
favorite restaurant
is closed except
for take-out
so we have to
go to a park
if we want to
make out
and no this pill
I am giving you
is not ecstasy
even better
sweetheart
it’s vitamin C

A Lasting Feeling | Ferris E. Jones

When rockets begin to fall from the sky
To make the late afternoon cry,
Something must be done to trumpet
Through the naked silhouette
Of the daily news.

The flowers must take back their homeland
Be permanent, be baffling, be grand.
Let the stars follow their walk;
Then, with comfort the birds will flock,
Dispelling the days blues.

Once common romantic appetites
Will begin to fill those marble nights.
Triumphantly understanding its goal
To fill the large translucent hole,
Begging for its taboos.

The Red Balloon | Susy

An obvious escape for the balloon,
I, for one saw it coming.
Even though the balloon was securely attached to the string and the string was grasped just as strongly by the boy’s hand.
It didn’t matter.
The balloon was set for adventure. It was going someplace never seen before.
A riveting ride
A color wheel ready for exploration.
Sounds in the air, a gravitational slowing, almost as if it would effect something differently.
It did.
Don’t let go.
Hold on tight.
Show us.

Stories | Miguel Soto

The stories are told in such a fine grit
the echoes of eternity were infinitely lit,
at certain paths there is a crossroad
you look for a crown to which I will righteously bestow.

The clutches of tomorrow were never in dismay
you write your riches to which no one ever flinches,
please say to sorry that I was never there
let us hope that there will be a share.

Go on, go on, go on, go far far on
snaring away at the pumps of your heart,
is all you will ever need to start.

Please don’t go, don’t give me a precise no
every sound of the air way can give a chance to go,
too little, too far on our journey to an intergalactic bar
a million men marched up Jupiter’s spiral low.

Take it, take it, take all the eternity of time
making up a conscience will give us a world to deny
from start to finish there will be no minds left to vanish.

The once and for all have grown too far gone
many can rid us from this infinite church,
I stand here in the middle as a road’s pawn
The earth will open up for us to emerge.

Inclusion | Eliza Segiet

From the orchestra of sensations
only moments are stopped in time.
They remain,
they last like an inclusion hidden in amber.
The past veiled by the memory
of stone nature.

My mind are the corals of the past,
monads of memories
immersed in a whirl of madness.
The corals of the future crystallize
into indeterminacy.
Fortune will materialize tomorrow.

Terror Barrier | Kimber Annie

what I know is this…
once you jump ship
you gotta swim
swim like there’s no tomorrow
swim like your life depends upon it… cause it does.
get your arms moving
get your legs moving
move.
move the deep that’s surrounding you
move the mountains that are touting you
move the voices that are doubting you
move.

move the liquid that’s caressing your flesh cause at this moment it isn’t your friend
you have to keep your ears above it and not let any of it in
move away as it screams
move away as it laughs
move away as it mocks you
move.

nothing about this swim resembles a refreshing dip on a warm summers day or a walk in the park
You’re in some other universe.
A universe where you have to hold your head up and you have to hold it up high. So high that your closer to the heavens then you’ve ever been.
Can’t think about food. Can’t think about hunger. Can’t think about the waves or about going under.
Feast on the airy sky. Drink it in. Drink in the colorful horizon. Drink in the sunset or sunrise. Drink it all in and swim its direction.
This is where you will find a sliver of life while you’re saving yours.
