i saw a little leaf whirling in the wind,
didn’t want to fall from the tree
but the leaf keeps falling over,
i prop it up, it falls again .
At the end, the heartbroken leaf
leaves a tear when it falls
and says goodbye to the tree.
Now, the little leaf, reincarnated into the earth
and started its cycle all over again.
Little leaf, the storyteller of our life.
Bulging eyes from the fish tank
of life, bifocal large,
zooming in and out
for a better view.
I see him on TV,
In his suit,
He looks so unhappy,
Furrowed brow,
Eyes squinting,
Tight mouth,
A guy whose parents
Made him feel worthless,
Now in a position where
He can hurt all his
Perceived enemies,
Play out all his fantasies
Of showing them
Who’s right,
A sad man doing sad things
For sad reasons.
She offers up to my senses,
A cornucopia of memories,
Creased lines on the old city’s face
I have helped etch.
Her streets echo yet,
With faded laughter,
I trace my fingers
Across the lines
On my old lovers brow,
Each a walk taken,
Enveloped in her benign arms.
Has it been another life already,
My ageless wonder…
We live eternal amid the moment,
we live in the whispers through the heavens,
we live in particles of sunlight,
we live in every dimension of time
and in every direction of space
our existence has no end.
