togetherness poems

Death In Amor | JayM

Slow, tender, close in an intimate embrace,
A waltz on the spiral of a trembling leaf in the early morning breeze,
Jouful moments of movement,
Alive in a dance of luminescence,
Leaving a trace of inexhaustible lightness upon the ground; Footprints of ardour
in the sunlight; a mellow shower of cascading delight,
Alternating between the gentle cream of wheat awaiting harvest, and
a crescendo of molten gold.

Soaked in bliss; this emotion of harmony, enchantment and laughter,
I give myself up to your love.
You dig beneath the surface,
Releasing the ecstasy trapped within,
Set me free,
Your music, an unending source of marvel,
Plays upon the ray of sunshine
piercing my mortal being.

Ah! You have come for my soul,
I give up with grace,
To ascend the spiral,
Of immortal passions…

Wishy-Washy | Ivan Jenson

I sense something
pending
that I don’t want
to talk about
because I am afraid
that it will jinx
the everyday magic
that doesn’t happen
all the time
in fact you can
feel it like
the hum of
electricity
in the air when
star-crossed lovers
meet by chance
in places like
the butcher’s counter
where one does not
expect romance
but there with the ham
and the cheese
she sneezes
and he says
‘bless you’
and this prepares
them to share
future bacteria
and the socially
acceptable
hysteria…
of togetherness
and I know this
is soon coming to
infect me
and I will again
feel lovable
and hopefully
hopelessly
incurable

Uni-Verse | Langley Shazor

Creatively clashed
The dissonance sounds strange
Untrained ears
Give it time
The longer you listen
Each part individual
Yet collectively magnificent
Music is magic
And our entire world sings
You simply
Tune in
Contrary to popular belief
Synergistic relationships become
Mutually beneficial
Harmony
One voice
One sound
Melodic
This is a song
We all know
Raise your head
Open your mouth
Make a joyful noise
With auditory acuity
An expanded cranial cavity
All can be heard
Singularly as well as collaboratively

Ontology | Cattail Jester

Same beneath the skin
Above it

Same thoughts, emotions
Shared fears

Spoken in different languages
Expressed in unfamiliar terms

Eyes the same
Heart the same

Same being.

Once and for All | JD DeHart

Once and for all,
let love just be love,
mustering as much
kindness as we can
when and where we
finally can,

Setting aside factory
compiled fragments,
cracks in the sidewalk
we treat like canyons,
differences of opinion
we treat as fractures.

Elementary | Langley Shazor

Tiniest morsels
Minuscule bits
Finite particles
Subatomic molecules
If we only had
This modicum of respect
For ourselves
And each other
Imagine the large difference
With all those
Quarks
Compiled
In which all that matters
Could be changed

City of Lips | Cattail Jester

Tonight, imagine a city
that loves.
A world that does not
run on deportations.
Imagine a place where
people can be peaceful,
at ease, at rest
with each other.
No one taking each other’s
bread and baubles.

Walled Off | Tricia Knoll

Chips of the Berlin Wall in my drawer,
spray-painted blue and pink, pieces come
home. One side of that wall named shame,
the other anti-fascist protective –
concrete come down
with sledge blows, muscles,
earth movers.

The year the Mexico border
wall comes down, run
the marathon over
the World Trade Bridge,
one Laredo to the other.
Of the rusted metal
make church keys
and bicycles.
Cross the big river’s flow
of history,
freedom and perhaps
forgiveness.

Inner Sun | Langley Shazor

The light of the world shines
through the souls,
through the smiles,
through the eyes
of all of its’ inhabitants.
And in time
All things dark will be illuminated.
Together we are brighter than the sun,
and we too
can shower this world,
shower this life,
shower this existence
with warmth.
