One Day | Fotoula Reynolds

I will climb to your highest point
I will stand at columns so grand
I will trace your footsteps in the sand
And my eyes will drink your Aegean beauty

I will take in your serene landscape
I will slow down and bask in the
Warmth of your summer sun and
I will drench myself in your fine wine

I will take a deep breath
I will feel your gentle sea breeze caress my skin
I Will sail along your canal and
I will carry your songs that serenade me

I will drift through the night sky
On a vessel under your stars
I will walk through your history
And you will show me another time

Weekend in New York | Ivan Jenson

We know
that the sorrows
of this world
are round
as we circle mother’s
earth
like thoughts on a plane
waiting to land
in the rain
in the night
and then we arrive
at our destination
famished and holding
our cell phones to our ears
like everyone else
expecting to see someone
on the other end
of this journey
to the center
of our self-worth
and then we spot
a smile in the terminal
condition of being human
and soon we will be
at our home
away from being
so very alone

Human Perfectibility | Benjamin Nardolilli

I lose productivity on the train,
Just as the train loses its own speed
To stop for station after station,

I always turn the window into a screen,
Watching the show of cities,
Towns, and broken homes going by

Instead of concentrating on poems
I promised I would write
So I could claim a trip was productive

No, the better comparison is you
Losing your time to create
From the peer to peer pressure of TV

Emptying your queues of episodes
Until whole seasons are done,
A binge which brings a full stop

To your plans and the flow established
By your previous good works,
Your intention unable to save you now

A Tale of Istanbul | Amanda Larasati

The magnificent Bosphorus smiled at me cheerfully
And the dazzling Kiz Külesi stood in the middle of it profoundly
Beyond it, the majestic Topkapi palace allured me in enchantment
Subsiding all my devastation and resentment
While strolling around, a spellbinding building captivated my attention
I found out Sultanahmet Camii was its name
The manifestation of mankind’s intellectuality and outstanding progression
An epitome of splendour that looks ravishing, graceful, and sublime
Istanbul oh Istanbul
The glorious city where mighty civilizations were established
The witness of how victory was prodigiously accomplished
Encapsulated through blood, sweat, and tears
In the pursuit of dignity and peace
Istanbul oh Istanbul
Sparkling beautifully each day and night
Reviving my spirit with felicity and delight
Redeeming the agony and despondences
To abolish all my inflictions and cries

Argot | JD DeHart

I’ve learned some
traces of travel language
but still sit alone
in a room full of others,
I have caught some
syllables here and there,
can imitate certain sounds
and movements…
But a sentence? Oh,
forget it, I’m lost in posing,
too busy try to make
meaning of the minute
regions of a language
I’m craving and resisting.
