We sacrifice mother and family,
along with ritual today, because
she lacked the proper insurance.
Though she loved us and called
us gods, we shoved her to back
to the end of the line, allowing
others through first. Our system
pretends love, but only palms
currency. As her heart filled,
the minor sniffles were cured.
