I found out the hard way
That if I went against what he said
I would find myself fighting
A battle for my life, ostracized,
Belittled, slandered by someone
Who didn’t really care about me,
Only about preserving his own status,
Keeping the secret hidden about
How he really is, and doing anything
To make sure everyone sides with him
And nobody ever knows the truth.
So I find myself shunned but
Grateful that I finally get to live
My own life, away from
All that horribleness,
Choosing my own path and
Who I spend time with,
Not doing the things he does,
Being a better person than
He wants me to be.
