Reading Died | JD DeHart

Reading, I tell them,
used to be the benefit
of the very wealthy.
Folks like them wouldn’t
even be able to read
anyway. Still, sometimes,
I hear, Nobody reads
and Why do I have to read
and I think about those
who do not hold the power
of literacy, whose hands
are kept from its flame.
