Sunshine Will Always Come | Antoine Kidd

There are times when it seems
like the clouds will never go away.
Times when It seems like the sun
will never show its beautiful rays again.
Those days the skies are grey,
and the days are cold.
The nights are quiet,
terrifying and lonely.
Those days when there
isn’t a creature in sight.
Everything is dry.
Mother nature is withering and dying.

Leaving plants lifeless
and animals to starve.
If only it would just rain,
nature can receive the nourishment it needs.
Once the rain comes in,
it starts off as slow droplets.
Drops trickle one by one,
giving pebbles of hydration to the land.
Just enough to wet the pedals of a dying rose.
After a few minutes, the clouds get heavier
and the sky completely opens.
The water flows freely through the sky as if
someone pulled back a shower curtain.
The rain hits the grown
with tremendous force.
Overbearing, but giving life to everything it touches.

When the rain stops.
The earth seems calm and sincere.
The clouds diminish while the
sun pokes its rays out
from behind them.
The sun shines like a chandelier,
casting light to mother nature’s living room.
Ground critters poke their
heads from their burrow.
Creatures of the sky spread their wings.
As the clouds disappear completely,
things become clear.
Even though some days
may be cloudy and cold.
Even when some days seem overwhelming.
There will always be a day when
the sun comes out to deliver joy.
