longing poems

Veiled Sorrows | Gemelene Magalona

We were a paradox of time and space between these jaded mirrors
Where nostalgia bleeds with every tainted touch
Of blinded yearnings brought by the fading memory
I’ve buried in the graveyard of our yesterday’s soil

Where April summers blossomed only the agony
Of your living ghost where it haunts the dark promises
You have left upon my shivering lips.

I’m still lost in the sunshine of your warm smiles
As it fades out in the shadows of our dusky sunsets
Where fallen skies cascade these wistful eyes
Of my veiled sorrows weaving these midnight tears tonight.

Bright Eyes | Jenny Dowling

Watching as the gems sparkle in the sunlight, we sit there patiently waiting. We are seeing everything so clearly now as if for the first time. Those flashing lights so far away, we wonder why they won’t stay. For not all stars are meant to shine as bright, some follow you home at night. Yet as we follow we stop to think, glory be why can’t you see. So bright eyes stay, stay with me tonight.

Unspoken Desires | Alexis Karpouzos

When are we gonna talk about the unspoken?
Behind of the words a silent ocean of desires
and a coiled knowledge lies in wait,
listen a restless voice in our heart endlessly urging us onward to break the limits of fear and to embrace of our longing.
Unspoken is whatever
we have not desired with all our heart.

Summer Breadth… | Dana Alecia

Yesterday came so suddenly
I wasn’t ready for your reality
That snuck up behind me willing
a life of pure eternity
Together Integrity
Together we challenge the tides
The endless summer highs and lows
To breathe a little in the space of the glow of Time
Of Love forever mine
Of love forever Sublime
Of Love for the rest of Time….

The Good Ache | Judy Moskowitz

Once a stand-in for love
When the real thing
Couldn’t make it in time
To soothe the bad ache
Numb the pain away
The good ache is the kind
You don’t medicate
A longing deep
Into the bones
From a kissed conversation
Connecting souls
Where music creates poems
Poems create themselves
Outstretched muscle
Limber thoughts
That ache me good
When you’re not near

B | Edgar Law

Sliding light gliding
an ebony liquid queen
of my once teenage
fiction
I want to find her again
nurse her to life.
