Wallet Mind | Sawyer Carpenter
Do not walk
through life
thinking with a wallet
What can I buy
What will make me whole
Find wholeness
in your own life.
Do not walk
through life
thinking with a wallet
What can I buy
What will make me whole
Find wholeness
in your own life.
Chip away all the odd
Pieces that don’t
Resemble me. See
What you have left
When you’re done.
A pile of pebbles
And ugly old me.
There is a deeper
beauty beyond these
skin treatments
this mirror image looking
back
There’s truth below
the epidermis.
Intimacy with self
sparks a love affair
with élan vital.
The urge to associate,
to commiserate with
is appanage of those
who are domiciled
in the amphitheater
of actualization.
Altruism is
due to asperities
of earth dwellers.
To be a soft-shell
is to be rooted
in a reality
we should strive for.
when my mind is free-floating
I always take the long way home
the route secures a path for itself
disclosing what’s on my mind
the long way is a method for discovery
an interval to unravel the knotted twine
most of the time.
He’s a cowardly mouse
who hides behind
everything, until finally
he finds that inner strength,
discovers he
knows
how to use an axe (!)
and then overtakes
the small universe
inside the wall.
