Two Gushes of Passion | Lateef Shareef Dhmayd

1
I’m Sinbad
I’ll come to take you on my raft
To the land of magic and diamonds,
my land, where you’ll reign
as the sole queen
I’ll pay you my homage and attribute
And stand by thee
To fan you with my feather fan
and wipe every drop of sweat
that may run on your soft rosy cheeks
and before you retire to bed
I’ll claim your delicious lips
with a hot and ever felt kiss.
2
What can I say of you?
You are the words and the pen?
You are the rose in its maximum bloom.
Not only one Adam if you wink is fallen.
Elysium is total alienation
if you are banished from
How many a racer has his life lost
just to have you by him been touched
you are not only a blissful abode
You are the dream and its becoming true.

You Mean So Much to Me | Mónika Tóth - Contemporary Poetry Website Featuring Notable Poems

You Mean So Much to Me | Mónika Tóth

Dedicated my nice Romanian friend Vasile

You are my inspiration,every day.
You are the smile on my face.
You are sparkle in my eyes.
You are the only song I want to sing.
You are my light in the darkness,
My strength when I’m too weak,
My voice when I speak.
My smile, when I see you.
My happiness when i am sad.
My friend when no one’s here.
The truth is
You mean so much to me.

Customary | Uiba Mangang

From a leaf to another leaf,
Leap the frogs in their rush paces,
In the molested water lake,
That has been used to clean every five years
Or, every season it need be coloured.
When the frogs becomes the beggar in suits,
He or she rates amount to be given!
The frogs croak with its honey pasted lips,
The fishes grasp it with fervent kisses-
Beggars provide drinks and throw big parties!
Blame games, designed crimes, show-room justice
Beggar turned boss, servant turned Satan:
They formed, embodied and they suffer,
Such’s been the laws of the water land!

At What Price | j.lewis - Contemporary Poetry Website Featuring Notable Poems

At What Price | j.lewis

at what price

trying to calculate the cost of intangibles
is a fool’s errand on a good day
wasting everyone’s time and attention
when both could be better spent
improving the lives of all citizens
of the place we claim as home

but in yet another urgent,
begging-for-my-scant-change email,
i find that freedom still has a price
though it seems to fluctuate
with mood and argument

today, the low, low price
of freedom and democracy
is a mere three dollars (american)
rushed to some online entity
that wants to hold three other entities
‘accountable for cowardice’
in an upcoming election

and me? i’m just callous enough
to believe that it will take more
than three portraits of george
to stem the torrent of disregard
that currently sweeps through
our highest halls of power
