I lie in my room
and welcome the rain
this renewing rain
foretelling of spring
the grass and trees
invent the new season
such a burst of buds
and promising shoots
ancient recipes of change
effortlessly unfold
everyday splendor
I humbly give thanks
Scrub me, cleanse
me, wash my facade
until all blemishes
of personality and pride
erode away in a stream.
At last
a season
changes
within me
thawing
my tundra
soul
warming me
again to
daily life.
I am
standing in the
madness swirl
of the rest
of the universe
All I had
to do
was open my
mind
Listen
to leaf whispers
find
the tallest place
Breathe in.
Shake off the cobwebs
The dust and fuzz
from your past
Stir up the soil
Plant new seeds
Clean the windows
of your muddy soul
Trim dead, dry stems
into colorful roses
Your frown into a smile
Restart the internal clock
Reborn from within
Not much time to lose
Winter is gone
Spring has arrived.
I cannot contain
or yet restrain
the arrival of joy each day.
By eventide the joy is dimmed.
New joys hide among the stars
to be uncovered
by another sunrise.
