They say words should not be bitter
Bitter and hostile words
Can be very hurting.
They can kill a person
They can ruin relationships
They can break a person’s heart
Into a thousand pieces.
Then why do they say
Bitter gourd is good for the body?
Sometimes I feel these bitter words
Can make us strong
And determined lifelong.
Try, try, try.
Work, work, work.
Nothing happens.
Treading water.
Falling into a deep state
Of depression.
Nothing happens,
Even less happens.
Awake to the realization
You are worth more.
Small steps leading
To wonderful things.
I’m a lone fighter,
With every wound inflicted on my soul, I shine brighter!
I’m a survivor,
Hard and bitter times have set my soul on fire!
I’m an achiever,
Never believed in the words “Everything is Over”!
I’m a warrior,
Have faced and vanquished my barrier!
I’m a believer,
I can make it to the top through sheer endeavour!
I’m ME,
Can’t you see?
I am the LOCK and I am the KEY!
Life has a way of
Sending things your way
That you can’t deal with,
Situations you try to avoid at all costs,
Questions you don’t want to face.
Turn your back and they’ll
Take you down with them,
Face them with courage
And you’ll create your own story.
Many things have happened
To me and I’m still here to talk
About them with you
And let you know that
You don’t have to suffer,
Stay stuck, in pain,
You have it inside you to
Honor yourself and
Be the person you’ve always
Known you are.
